Renovation Continues

Well, I have finished painting the upper walls of the guest bedroom upstairs. I love the color - a dark mocha sort of color. Very warm and comfy feeling. Now I am ready to start on the panelling. I haven't been able to work on it for a week - our upstairs air has been out and I have had to wait on the air conditioning people to install a new coil. Our new bed should arrive soon so I have to get my you know what in gear! I'm getting excited now because I can see it all coming together. My creative juices are flowing and I'm ready to start ordering drapes and bedding!

Luxurious Weekend at Barton Creek

Jimmy was opening a branch on Bea Caves in Austin and decided it would be fun if I went with him and we stayed over at Barton Creek and played a little golf. I went and checked in ahead of time while he went straight to the branch. When I arrived to our room, I almost died. I called Jimmy immediately and asked what kind of special "deal" he got! He asked why and I explained Barton Creek gave us a room with a living room, dining room, 1-1/2 bath, kitchen, desk area and huge bedroom! Jimmy told me to go right down and tell them they made a mistake. I said NO! I already unloaded my clothes and was set. I just hoped they made a mistake, their fault and we could stay! It was incredible! I loved it! NO MISTAKE! We had a great time with great golf. Wish we could do that again!

Sport's Day with the Family

All together at the Sport's Day was a great time for family pics. Since it had been such a long time Jimmy, Jon and Jay had been together, it was a perfect time for a family photo of the three. And what a great shot with great-grandma Sibyl and the three Allen men along with Clark and his little man (Huston). Man, how I wash Graham had been able to make this years event. It would have been a complete family photo! Seems someone HAD to take one of Lovey trying to get up off the ground. Not too easy for this old gal. (Getting old is for sissies.) I loved seeing Jon and Jay. I miss my little brothers and new little sisters too (Lori and Brandy). We GOTTA figure a way to see them more often. What do you say guys????? This holiday in SA?

Fun at Dinner with Cousins

Dinner with the cousins was great fun. Little boys are so cute....Emy didn't have a chance!

Don Allen Sports Day

The weekend after Mother's Day, Jimmy, me, Clark, Alix and the two little ones headed down to Wildwood for the annual Don Allen Sport's Day. This is an annual event begun by Pop, Jimmy's dad, before his death, benefiting the handicapped. It is a sports day allowing a variety of sports and fun for handicapped people of all kinds. It was named after pop after his death because of he was so instrumental in getting it started, both financially and in support. We hadn't been in quite a while and were excited to have the opportunity to go this year and also excited Clark and Alix were able to come and bring the kids. Graham and Whitney usually make the trip but were unable to make it this year since their move to Chicago.

We arrived on Friday evening and met up with Jon, Lori, Michael, Justin and Sibyl for dinner. It was really good to see everyone and enjoy a nice evening of visiting since Michael and Justin had ball games the next day and we were unable to see Lori or them at the sports day.

3 Year Old Amateur Photographer

Clark gave Alix a new camera for Mother's Day. She's been wanting a new one to replace the one she had. With small children, one needs a camera the has a quick or constant "shooting" setting in order to catch the good pics. Huston is really excited about this. He wants her old one. He's in love with taking pics. On Mother's day, when they were with us at lunch, Huston had hold of their camera and began shooting pics of everyone and every thing. He LOVES taking pictures and has become quite the amateur photographer. He just holds the camera up and randomly shoots whatever is in his way. Sometimes, the shots are quite funny (i.e. my boobs that is framed on my piano!...clothed of course!). As you can tell from the pics below, he took random shots at many of us (plus the waiter) at the table. He would even tell Emy to say "cheese" and the little "ham" would obey and say "cheeeeese" while he snapped away. But the fun came when we were leaving the club. Jimmy and I had already gotten our car and gone. Alix and Clark were waiting with the kids for their car when Huston decided to take shots of random club members also waiting for their cars. As he began shooting away, people thought it was so funny, they began posing for him. Some even asked to have him take their pictures. Some asked "Did you get it?" And Huston's reply was, "Got it., I got it." and would just move on. He can be so funny some times. Such a man of few words but such a dry humor. As you can tell from the pics, the other club members got a real kick out of our little guy.

So Much Fun...More Black and White

The putting contest was the first evening of the tournament. The guys were doing their best to sink some holes in one. But...NO WAY! They waited till late in the evening, a few drinks down and with shadows from the lights...they just couldn't sink the puts to get any winning numbers on the front 9. Alix and I decided we could help them out. See what happens next.

Oh my! Hole-in-One! The first put! Todd, the club pro couldn't believe it! What champs we were! We whizzed around the putt-putt course. We made a couple of more holes in one (and one 10 - OOOOOPS!). But man did we have some fun! We REALLY helped those guys! They didn't win, of course. But they would have been a lot worse off without us! Go Girls
!

The last evening of the Black and White was the black tie event. You saw earlier some pics of the four of us at that event. Not only did we have fun...but Alix and I were very excited to come into some cold hard cash. Jimmy and Clark won a little money on the last day. They shared their winnings with the two us us and as you can tell from the pics below...we were very appreciative!
