RAIN a tribute to the beatles

The story of RAIN began in the mid 1970s when four local musicians formed a band that was originally called “Reign”, played throughout the Los Angeles/Orange County, CA area. With their mutual love for the music of The Beatles, Reign was in demand to play Beatles music and rode an enormous wave of nostalgia for the band that had broken up in 1970. Before long they had built a strong devoted following in and around Los Angeles. Following numerous misspellings in the media and advertising, “Reign” became RAIN (also the title of a 1966 Beatles single).
Jimmy and I had the opportunity to go to the Majestic Theater, here in San Antonio, to attend the stage version of Rain, currently running. After a long, long day at the office, Jimmy was ready, and I may say, really ready for a relaxing and fun evening of music on which we grew up on. We started the evening with appetizers and spirits at Bohanan's downtown across from the Majestic. We didn't have time for dinner, since Jimmy was running late from the office, but a quick stop into Bohanan's did just the trick.
Afterwards, we walked across the street to the Majestic for some great seats for the performance. Before the show began, there were two large screens on either side of the stage with questions flashing up about the Beatles. Then, there would be multiple choice answers to choose from. It was quite fun trying to figure the answers out before it flashed on the screen. The screen background was in hippie type design (more like flower power) and quite fun to watch. Pretty soon, the show began and it began with the two screens lighting up with TV and movie reels about what was happening in the early 60's. From right before Kennedy was elected, through the Cubin Missile Crises, through Kennedy's assassination, Johnson's presidency, and so on until it began flashing scenes from the Ed Sullivan TV show where the Beatles had landed. Much of the reels where in black and white film. It was quite fun to watch and even re-live some of the old commercials. Did you remember that they used to offer women's nylon hose in boxes of clothes soap? Or the Prell commercials? It was quite funny and fun.
Then, in a flash, they were on stage...just like the Beatles! And they SOUNDED JUST LIKE THE BEATLES! And the LOOKED just like the Beatles! It was spooky and cool all the same. There were people of all ages in the audience. And people began to belt out songs! GROOVY!
There were four young men sitting in the row in front of us...Though they weren't alive when the Beatles were together...they knew the music and were letting it out as much as we were!
It was really a fun evening in all. Great music, groovin out, swaying, waving our lights in the air (lighters - aka flashlight i-phone app). Just too cool to explain!

We've got a ticket to ri-iiiiiide!

Can you locate the band?

Sometimes those who are vertically challenged have to look at the screen instead of the people on stage...just a little better view

4 young guys in the row ahead of us - they even knew the words.
People stood most of the evening singing
