Lunch Bunch Begins

Today was the begining of this years cooking season for Lunch Bunch at our church. I love cooking at church. We start at 9:00 am and after cooking serving and cleaning, end around 2:00 pm. A long day...but great fun with a great team. Alix is able to join us again this year after taking a sabbatical last year, heaving Emery at home and no place to leave her while she cooked. Both kids are in pre-school this year and so she is able to be with us again. We cook on the first Thursday of each month, each team member taking her turn to plan the menu one month, shop and head the preparations. It is great fun, great fellowship, and good food as we serve our Lord. Welcome back by sweet friends! I so love you all!

Yum! Margarita Cake!!!!!!!

Elizabeth headed up our team by planning the September menu for Lunch Bunch. We had Sloppy Joe's, salad and margarita cake. As you can see...Alix loved "cutting up" cucumbers for the salad!

Helping Hands staff, our special needs group and church, ready to serve: Jane, one of our senior adults (heads Senior Adult Lunch Bunch), Chip - helping hand, Tyler - helping hand, another helping hand girl, Judith - one of our cooking team members.

Lindsay was a first time helper in the kitchen today - what a great help! Katy often helps as we serve the meal. Carla heads the Helping Hands program and works closely each week to ensure great work by the group - shown here with Tyler.
